Castilla La Mancha, Spain

These photos are from an ethnobiological study of food and medicine in the wetland and riparian zones of the region of Central Spain known as Castilla La Mancha (which includes the National Parks of Cabañeros and Tablas de Daimiel). We use open or semi-structured interviews and workshops with the elders and perform multivariate analyses to find categories of traditional knowledge, use and management of resources. Our research team is made up of several researchers (Alonso Verde, José Fajardo, Arturo Valdés, Concepción Obón, Fernando López, Cristina Inocencio, Francisco Alcaraz, and Diego Rivera) from several universities (Universidad de Murcia, Universidad de Castilla la Mancha, and Universidad Miguel Hernández).
