Dining at UNR, Patterson Hall

Patterson Hall, nestled within the scenic campus of University of Reno at Lake Tahoe, serves as the campus dining hall. It proudly caters to the community, faculty, staff, and students, and conference attendees! The dining hall offers a range of dining options, ensuring that every meal includes vegetarian and vegan selections. Guests can enjoy grab-and-go items, a fresh salad bar, delicious grilled items, and house-made desserts. The UNR meal plan options are open to ALL conference attendees (you do not need to be staying in a dorm to purchase).

Sample Menu Description

This is a description of a typical week. The chef plans menus several weeks out from being served so the dishes will vary but this provides an idea of what can be on the menu.

Lunch Options (examples; actual menus will be available closer to the conference)

• Wednesday: Chicken Pot Pie, Vegetarian Option, Roasted Potatoes, Veggie Medley, Assorted Desserts, Salad Bar, Grill
• Thursday: Pork Lo Mein, Vegetarian Option, Fried Rice & Egg Roll, Stir Fried Vegetable, Assorted Desserts, Salad Bar, Grill
• Friday: Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich, Vegetarian Option, House Made Chips, Broccoli & Cauliflower, Assorted Desserts, Salad Bar, Grill

Breakfast Bar

• Standard options: Fruit, cereals, breads, oatmeal, eggs, breakfast meats, coffee/juices

• Breakfast + Lunch: $21.57 (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday)
• Lunch only: $12.20 (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday)
• Breakfast only: $9.37 (Saturday only)

Lunch orders must be placed by Friday, May 2, 2025.

During your stay, present your conference badge at the dining hall and staff will check that your name is on the list of conference attendees who ordered breakfast and/or lunch for each day. Boxed Lunches

As we have the Mentor Lunch and a roundtable scheduled during the lunch break on the Thursday, and two roundtables during lunch on the Friday, we have a selection of boxed lunches (sandwiches and salads) available for pre-ordering, so you can quickly grab your lunch on your way to one of these sessions. All boxed lunches are $14.95 each with an optional drink for an additional fee (bottled water: $2.20, assorted bottled soda: $3.30, assorted bottled sparkling water: $3.30). Pick-up location for boxed lunch orders is TBD but will be near the session rooms or registration area. Boxed lunch orders must be placed by Friday, May 2, 2025.

• Boxed Sandwiches:
  • Turkey Breast and Provolone Sandwich
  • Roast Beef and Cheddar Sandwich
  • Roasted Veggie Sandwich Express Box Lunch

    All sandwiches served on chef`s selection of fresh bread with chips, apple, and large cookie. Lettuce, tomato, on sandwich. Mayo and mustard packets provided.

• Boxed Salads:
  • Turkey Avocado Cobb Salad
    Mesclun greens with turkey, applewood-smoked bacon, fresh avocado, cage-free hard boiled egg, black olives, onion, buttermilk ranch dressing, and house-made croutons. Cookie included.
  • Blackened Chicken Caesar Salad
    Chopped romaine lettuce, blackened chicken, grated parmesan cheese, and house-made croutons with our traditional caesar dressing. Cookie included.
  • Mediterranean Grilled Vegetable Salad - Vegan and made-without-gluten (MWOG)
    Seasonal grilled vegetable with Quinoa, kalamata olives, and tomato on a bed of greens with balsamic vinaigrette. MWOG Cookie included.
