Annette Saunooke Clapsaddle, Executive Director of the Cherokee Preservation Foundation will speak on over a decade’s worth of efforts to improve the quality of life of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and western North Carolinians through energy efficiency, artisan resource propagation and management, conservation, and environmental sustainability efforts. In addition to outlining the role that philanthropy can play in these initiatives, she will discuss the opportunities and challenges for the Foundation and the EBCI to lead research and development of best practices for these areas while working within the context of traditional cultural values.
