Tips

  • FLOOR works best on Google Chrome browser. Please take the time to download Chrome to use for the conference. During our demo session, Safari users had no sound or very poor sound quality and some FireFox users were not able to screen share.
  • Laptop/PC is recommended for a better user experience. iPad/tablet/mobile phone not recommended.
  • Recommended download speed: 8 MBPS. Minimum download speed: 1.4 MBPS. See SpeedTest.net to test your download speed.
  • Log in with the same email address that you used to register and to which your Join link was sent.
  • Grant your browser permission to use your camera/mic.
  • If your system is behind a Firewall temporarily disable it if possible while using FLOOR or use a high speed hotspot.

  • Close all other unnecessary applications running in the background.
  • Place your device near your router or use an ethernet cable to connect your device directly to the router.
  • Turn off any other devices using WiFi as this can affect video quality.
  • If you need to have 2 devices, keep them separated.
  • If your router has an antenna, cover it.

How do I allow Camera and Microphone in a web browser

  • When you first log in to FLOOR, your browser may ask to use your camera and microphone. Click Allow.
  • If your browser does not ask for permission to use your camera and microphone, you may have set it manually. In Chrome, click on the lock icon in the address bar (where you enter the URL address) of your browser window.
    • If the Camera and Microphone options appear use the dropdown menu to set them to Allow
    • If those options do not appear, click Site settings. In the Permissions section use the dropdown menus to set the Camera and Microphone options to Allow.
    • You may also have to set Sound to Allow.

For MacOS 10.14 (Mojave) or above users:

  1. Open System Preferences.
  2. Click Security & Privacy.
  3. Click Camera in the list of options in the left pane.
  4. Check the box nex to the browser you are using to access FLOOR
  5. Click Microphone and repeat Step 4.
  6. Click Screen Recording and repeat Step 4.
  7. Restart your browser.

  1. Click on your profile picture on the top right corner of your screen.
  2. Click Update Profile.
  3. Update Profile Picture: Click Camera icon and browse to the image on your computer and click Open.
  4. Complete all the profile fields and click Update. **NOTE: Other users can only see your name, designation and company (affiliation).

  1. Click the Screen Share button, to the right of camera and mic buttons, at the bottom of your screen.
  2. Click Your Entire Screen if you are playing your presentation in Full Screen Mode. Click on the thumbnail image of your screen, then click Share..
  3. If you are playing your presentation in an application window, click Application Window (or Window on Mac) then select your presentation window, then click Share
    NOTE: If your presentation contains audio, check the Share Audio checkbox in the bottom left corner.
    MacOS: You may need to enable the Screen recording permission (see My Mac camera/microphone/screen share are not working above.

  1. Ask audience to click the Raise Hand button at the bottom of their screen if they want to come on stage to ask a question.
  2. Click Q&A on the right of the screen to open the Q&A panel.
  3. Click the Hand icon to open the Hand Raised panel.
  4. Click +Invite to invite the attendee to the stage.
  5. When the attendee accepts the invitation, their video will appear on screen.
  6. Click Remove User (right pointing arrow icon) on the attendee's video to remove them from the stage. Alternatively, click Disconnect on their profile in the Hand Raised panel

  • Click the Q&Atab on the right side of the screen to open the panel and type your question.
  • Click the Raise Hand (hand icon) at the bottom of your screen. When you receive and invitation to join the stage, click Accept to join the stage with your video and mic turned on.
