Indigenous plants of Girnar ranges

Ethnobotany in the wider context denotes the entire realm of useful relationship between plants and man. The research site, Girnar Mountain is located in the Junagadh. Junagadh district is one of the Saurashtra region of the Gujarat State,India. The District lies between 20⁰44’ and 21⁰40’ North latitude and 69⁰40’ and 71⁰05’ East longitude. The present work makes an attempt to provide comprehensive document related to the indigenous medicinal plants. It is based on the carefully planned trips, spread over three years. Field work selected on the basis of the available information on the areas to be visited and the people to be studied taking aid of maps, floras, icons, literature, discussion with the personnel. Information was noted in the field on plant species. Data was collected about the informants, the local names of plants, medicinal value and also culture of the folk.
