2010 Conference Transportation

Victoria is on the southern tip of Vancouver Island [map]. If you are flying in, the simplest and recommended route is to fly to the Victoria Airport (YYJ) and take a 20 minute taxi ride into town to your hotel.

If you like making travel adventurous (i.e. cheaper), you may also consider flying to Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and taking a bus to the Tsawwassen-Swartz Bay Ferry, where you can bus again into town near your hotel options. Alternatively you can fly into SeaTac International Airport (SEA), bus to the Victoria Clipper foot ferry terminal in downtown Seattle and take the clipper into the Victoria Inner Harbor which is close to the Hotel options. The Clipper is offering us a 10% discount (see below for details).

Planning on driving from Victoria to Tofino for the ISE Congress?

There are several great natural and culture history stops along the way.

We will have a "Message Board" at the registration desk for those looking to share rides with other people heading to the ISE meetings.

University of Victoria (UVIC) is a major hub for the bus. The #4 and #7 go between UVic and the Marriott in a little under 30 minutes.
