Join us for the third annual Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) Indigenous Plant Food and Medicine Celebration. We are inviting up to 30 participants from the SoE meeting to travel to Squamish to the village of Stawamus to take part in our community's day of ethnobotanical knowledge renewal, learning, and celebration. This day will consist of hands on workshops in the morning, a traditional and local foods lunch and more workshops in the afternoon. In previous years we have included workshops on cedar bark weaving, traditional cooking methods (pit cooking), making salves and teas, and more. This day is hosted in Sḵwx̱wú7mesh territory primarily for Sḵwx̱wú7mesh People, but we also feel it is a wonderful learning opportunity for other Indigenous and non-indigenous people to partake in.

We look forward to spending the day with you learning together in the beautiful Sḵwx̱wú7mesh territory.

All Day.   Pick up First Nations House of Learning 7:30 am; return 6pm
Max 20 people.
Cost: $58 USD/person. Includes transportation to and from the conference venue as well as food for the day. There may be separate fees for workshops such as cedar and wool weaving to cover the materials. More details to come.
