During this intimate boat excursion on the ecologically rich and geologically intriguing Harrison River in the eastern Fraser Valley, we will experience this rich cultural landscape through the lens of a storyteller whose ancestors transformed and enlivened this environment over millennia. Visitors will have an opportunity to see, visit, and hear about the legacy of the Sts’ailes people: impressive ancient village sites, concentrations of culturally important plants, and sacred landmarks and pictographs. Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn about how this community is taking their history, traditions, laws, and landscape knowledge to ensure a better future for the next generations.

Transportation to and from UBC conference venue included. Salmon bbq lunch provided.
