Location of Chapter: Rwanda
Description of the Chapter: This chapter will gather all Rwandan biologists interested in promotion of biology in our daily life. It will be also a place where youth of Rwanda will share ideas and start getting involved in conservation of biodiversity and mitigation of climate change. Education and concept sharing will be included in the chapter meetings as well as interactive activities. Conservation, climate change, park preservation and restoration will be subtopics of interest. Devising new methods for ethnobiology will be discussed as well as sharing concepts with other ethnobiology groups of the world. A global and world-wide perspective will be attained while local issues addressed and solutions developed. Preservation, health, ecosystem equilibrium, and sharing of scientific knowledge will be the center of this chapter.

Society of Ethnobiology - Chicago Area

Description of the Chapter: This chapter is designed to investigate ethnobiology in the local Chicago-land area and is designed to do comparisons to various other regions in assessment of strengths and weaknesses in nutrients, vitamins, and biota, and the chapter will search for solutions for these issues in this area. The chapter is also intended to improve ethnobiological awareness in the Chicago-land area. A concentration will be in discovering solutions for year long, indoor planting concepts including companion gardening and bokashi, nutrient discoveries, and exploration of native plants for the area. Education and concept sharing will be included in the chapter meetings as well as interactive activities. Lake, water bodies, and park preservation and restoration will be subtopics of interest. Devising new methods for ethnobiology will be discussed as well as sharing concepts with other ethnobiology groups of the world. A global and world-wide perspective will be attained while local issues addressed and solutions developed. Preservation, health, ecosystem equilibrium, and sharing of scientific knowledge will be the center of this chapter.

Society of Ethnobiology – Ethnobiological Association

Description of the Chapter: Members of the local chapter are called Members of the Ethnobiological Association and they will form an Executive Committee (7 members).  General members constitute the General Committee.  Together the Executive and General Committees run the various academic, scientific and social activities related to ethnobiology in the field, in research, and in educational institutions. The Ethnobiological Association will publish a newsletter containing information about their activities.

Location of the Chapter: University Roma Tre, Dept. of Environmental Biology, Rome, Italy
Description of the Chapter: The chapter primarily targets young ethnobiologists with a reference to Europe, either through origin, place of residence or work. It constitutes a central platform for relevant information concerning funding and employment opportunities in terms of grant deadlines or open positions and links to suitable search engines. Additionally it is meant to serve as a discussion forum for ideas, the exchange of research experiences and collaboration building. Especially members with teaching experience are encouraged to share materials and advice in order to reach a certain scientific standard for the ethnobiological education as a long-term goal. All members are invited to attend annual meetings of the chapter and of the parent organization. The Chapter meetings will be held as “camping-meetings” to keep costs to a minimum and to reach a maximum of flexibility as well as teambuilding.

Description of the Chapter: This student run organization is to inform and promote ethnobiology to the UWSP student body and local community. This organization engages members in hands-on activities and allows them to explore and bridge together the various disciplines that are involved in ethnobiological studies.  Previous activities have included making tinctures, collecting specimens and creating natural dyed fabrics, and participating in sustainability events on campus.  In addition, this organization collectively manages the UWSP Ethnobotanical Garden, which is a courtyard devoted to native useful plants mostly in our region. This group also represents and aides in the success of the ethnobotany minor offered at this university.
